When Kansas teenager Alyssa Buecker was 14, HBO commissioned her to write, direct, film, edit, and produce CARROT WARS. Besides making waves on the Festival circuit in New York City, Virginia, Sacramento, and even DreamWorks in Hollywood, CARROT WARS won a First Place Award in the KAN Film Festival. CARROT WARS had its "big screen" World Premiere at the historic Fox Theatre in Hutchinson, Kansas (paired with another favorite family film, THE SOUND OF MUSIC).
Alyssa has been the focus of much national and international media attention since her films have attained an almost cult-like status with cavy lovers and movie fans alike. She and her pigs have taken it all in stride (although her "stars" often demand extra lettuce).
